Frequently Asked Questions

    • Many patients want to know what is going on with their body and why they are suffering with so many conditions. Our expertise goes beyond hypermobility and we will work with you for as long as you want to work with us. When some folks learn they are not hypermobile, it can be frustrating and feel like a dead end. Your concerns are still valid and real and we will work with you for as long as you feel it is valuable.

    • If you feel that transitioning care is most valuable, we are still committed to collaborative care and connecting you with community providers near you who can work with you going forward. We will make recommendations on next steps and general testing you can take to your primary care provider.

    • Dr. Payne will see mainly EDS consults and Dr. Lake will work with Autism/AuDHD and Gender Affirming care/hormone health.

    • Both of us will consult each other when needed, and you can request whichever the physician of your preference

  • The first call is free to you. We take this seriously and want to make sure each person is ready for what we offer. We work in collaboratively in partnership as long as needed/desired by both parties. If and when you ”graduate”, you are able to return to the care of your local provider. Future visits with us are available as long as we have capacity.

If you have complex overlapping conditions, it is quite valuable to have a “quarterback” working with you to help you understand and manage your health, all while taking a holistic, integrated approach. We can serve as guide and liaison with other clinicians you have assembled.

  • As we grow, we will be continually reaching out to community physicians and groups as well as gaining feedback from patients on their lived experiences and preferences. This will often be patient-led and driven as well as through physician/provider networks.

We currently offer care in AL, AZ, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MD, MI, MN, MO, OH, PA, TN, TX, UT, WA, WI, and WY. If your state is not on this list, please still reach out. We might be able to add your state.

    • There is an introductory fee for the initial summary visit(s). This includes obtaining and reviewing all your medical records, potentially discussing care with your current health care team, the time investment in understanding your current state of health, and developing a comprehensive plan for you.

    • We’re here for you throughout your journey, your flares, your wins, your scheduled check ins and your 2 AM messages. Ongoing care is included in your ongoing subscription.

    • Please schedule a call to discuss and learn more; HSA and FSA may be able to assist. We do not accept insurance, we request that you do not submit to insurance including Medicare/Medicaid as we do not provide covered services.

    • Future plans may include launching a physical location

    • We agree with the Ehlers Danlos Society motto “Nothing About Us Without Us”. We agree any kind of spectrum-ness needs support, community, and other humans dealing with the same issues. Solidarity.

    • We are working on patient-led support/meeting groups, informational content/learning, and open to exploring partnerships with vendors should they assist with discounts for our patients. Please connect with us if you are interested in volunteering.
